Octagon’s History
Octagon was founded in 1999 as a development partnering organization, providing regulatory services to the life sciences industry. As the company grew, the Octagon team expanded the service offerings upstream to include outsourcing services in the Clinical area and process consulting services across the submission process. Training has been a component of every engagement and continues to be key to our leadership position in the industry. In support of the growing service offerings, Octagon developed a proprietary technology to manage all of the moving parts of the complex submission process. We realized that many life sciences professionals were struggling with similar process management challenges.
The company made a strategic decision to invest in the development and commercialization of the product and in 2003, Octagon launched ViewPoint®, our enterprise process management solution. This solution supported our holistic process-centric view of drug development and enabled us to offer a comprehensive portfolio of products and services. In 2007, Octagon acquired an Electronic Data Capture provider to move us closer to our vision of supporting the entire drug development process “from data collection to submission”.
Presently, Octagon has four strategic lines of business that include Regulatory, Clinical, Process Consulting and Software solutions. Our offerings combine people, process and technology to provide complete capabilities to our valued clients. As industry standards emerge we continue to evolve our offerings and lead in the definition and execution of new business models for the life sciences industry.

The Octagon Team has developed “Octagon's Eight Rules of Thumb” that guide our actions and foster an entrepreneurial culture across the organization. The Rules of Thumb are an integral part of our daily activities. Because they are so important, the rules can be seen throughout our various locations and have been incorporated into our recruiting processes.
