Octagon Announces New Vice President of Process Engineering

For release on September 29, 2000

Plymouth Meeting, PA - Octagon Research Solutions, Inc. (Octagon) is pleased to announce the addition of John Lawrie as the Vice President of Process Engineering.

In his new position, Mr. Lawrie will be responsible for developing Octagon’s Process Engineering Practice, which will include business analysis, process design, managing organizational change, project management and the technical facets of system implementations. The initial focus of the practice will be in the Regulatory Operations arena.

“The competitive biopharmaceutical landscape compels organizations to evaluate and optimize their existing processes”, stated Mr. Lawrie. “As an organization grows, this task becomes more complex and at the same time, more critical to the business. You can’t remain competitive and work the same way you did five years ago. And you can’t change for the sake of change. Process engineering involves taking a look at the bigger picture and aligning your processes with the organization’s goals. A systematic approach provides stronger, more efficient processes that span across various disciplines. This is what we will be helping our customers to achieve.”

“We are seeing a real need in the marketplace for experienced, industry professionals who can guide an organization through process development activities”, stated Jim Walker, President and CEO of Octagon. “In order to develop the process, you must understand the industry and how it is changing. John’s industry experience, process knowledge and leadership skills will help us to design practical solutions that provide long-term, strategic benefits to our customers.”

Mr. Lawrie will be based out of the headquarters location in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
