OCTAGON RESEARCH SOLUTIONS RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE FASTEST-GROWING COMPANIES IN THE COUNTRY
Wayne, Pa. - November 7, 2005 - Octagon Research Solutions, the leader in the electronic transformation of clinical R&D, today announced that it has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing, privately held firms in the United States on Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 500 list. Octagon was ranked 174th on this year’s Inc. 500, which was released today in the magazine’s November issue.
The Inc. 500 list is compiled annually to recognize the fastest-growing private companies throughout the country. The list ranks privately held companies according to year-over-year sales growth from 2001 to 2004.
Between 2001 and 2004, Octagon experienced sales growth of 616.5 percent. Currently, the company employs more than 180 individuals and recently launched international operations with an office in Amersham, U.K. Octagon has continually captured market share with each newly developed service and technology solution.
“We are honored to be included on such a prestigious list,” explained James Walker, chief executive officer, Octagon Research Solutions. “Our incredible growth throughout the past few years is a true testament to the committed, hard-working staff here at Octagon and to the growing need for the electronic transformation of clinical R&D in the life sciences industry.”
The average three-year sales growth of this year’s Inc. 500 companies was 769 percent, with the Inc. 500 companies posting an aggregate 2004 revenue of $15.9 billion. Companies recognized on the Inc. 500 list generated 25,180 new jobs in the past year alone, a 35 percent year-over-year increase.
“When you look at the amazing job growth among Inc. 500 companies, it underscores the changing nature of our economy,” said Jim Melloan, project manager for the Inc. 500. “With unprecedented global competition, companies have to be able to turn on a dime, and discover innovative new ways of doing business. Increasingly, it’s the smaller, agile companies like those on the Inc. 500 that are best equipped to meet these challenges.”
The 24th Annual Inc. 500 Conference and Awards Ceremony will be held in March 2006 in Savannah, Ga., where all 2005 Inc. 500 companies will be honored.
