OCTAGON LAUNCHES STRATEGIC CLINICAL OFFERINGS

Company Appoints New Vice President of Clinical Data Operations

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA - December 20, 2004 - Octagon Research Solutions, the leader in the electronic transformation of clinical R&D, today announced that the company is launching a new service offering to support organizations transitioning to CDISC (Clinical Data Standards Interchange Consortium) standards.  Octagon's CIM (Clinical Information Management) group has been realigned to offer a comprehensive set of consulting, training and conversion services to support the creation of data that is compliant with CDISC standards and HL7 RCRIM initiatives. The newly formed Clinical Data Strategies (CDS) group will focus on the expansion of CDISC services, led by Tom Guinter, vice president, CDS.

Simultaneously, the company is announcing the appointment of Daphne Ewing as vice president of Clinical Data Operations (CDO), which is comprised of clinical data management, programming, statistics and medical writing functions. Ms. Ewing brings over 18 years of contract services industry experience to the position and is charged with institutionalizing best practices that support Octagon's holistic approach to producing submission deliverables.
